so i’ve left behind the old blog.  despite the fact that it’s only been a handful of months since the last post, the landscape and circumstances of my life have drastically changed in subtle ways.  i don’t want to hold myself down to ill-placed nostalgia that serves no purpose, or have a rose tinted view that would only help to misremember true events.

blogging has always been an exercise in honesty for me.  for it to be anything else would mean that like some people, i would have to have an affinity for delusions.

but while my shell of cyncism may have hardened somewhat, i am still essentially the same bowie-worshipping geek girl who enjoys a good conversation over good coffee and a cigarette.  i have grown more obsessed with tattoo culture, found myself adapting to project independence a little more easily, continuing my personal journey with the aid of the tarot, and finding that i’m not as lost as i once thought i was.

because, most importantly, i have found that i really do enjoy being a teacher.  a half-dream i have entertained in the back of my mind since i was a child, and have only recently started to earnestly pursue.  it reminds me that it is never too late to start something completely new, that like my father, my life can be made up of wildly different paths that only attest to the depth of the basic human character.

i can’t help but be reminded of how very young i am, and how much life is still ahead of me.  i’m excited to see what tomorrow brings, but i am content to fully appreciate the journey that will take me there.
